Red Tail Hawk

This Red Tail hawk has been stalking the skies above my part of town. I caught it perched on a telephone pole checking out all of his options for lunch.

It’s interesting to watch the reaction from the other types of birds. When the hawk comes around they all quickly scatter for cover, the sky is completely clear except for him. Every once and awhile a crew of crows will try to gang up on the Red Tail, but he always keeps his composure.

  1. That is sick. I like the deep story behind the hawk. It’s awesome that you noticed him.

    Paint more in San Francisco!

  2. Also known as the ‘Chicken Hawk’ or ‘Buzzard Hawk’ these birds of prey have large talons and love to snack on mice, lizards, snakes and very tiny people.
