Alex Grey has been an inspiration to me for many years. I was invited to spend some time with him at the Visionary Art event in Downtown LA.
Originally the ever-prolific Guy Aitchison hooked me up with Alex to participate in a live painting session. I was even put on the spot to speak about aspects of the Graff movement and how it relates to Visionary Art.
This movement is deep routed in the combination of psychedelics and the journey of self-awareness. I was honored to participate in the creative process with such great artists. All the artists who painted came through with amazing pieces.
P.S. If you not into the Burning Man aftermath, then some of this crowd might be a little out of your comfort zone.

alex grey is dope. i’ve seen a dvd where he shows his paintings and talks about them. i love how much detail he puts in his paintings, and i like how they glow.

Yes, I fully agree with everyone here about people needing to recognize the level of seriousness this guy is contributing to the whole spectrum of creation, especially Visionary Art.This guys work is truly Divine.Also, check out Paul Laffoly.I met Alex at an art benefit for the COSM in Portland,OR.He gave a lecture and also sat there in a chair signing things and mostly talking to people for about 5 plus hours.What a phenomenal human being this guy is.This was also the choice event for my 21st birthday where I fully enjoyed the satisfaction of an event full of Visionary Art and Artists around me.Just thought I’d state this to the case.Also, love the Saber piece at the Doug Fir!!!More Fiyah!!!
